OCD Therapy That Gets to the Heart of the Loop

You may already know you have OCD and understand what it’s doing. But that doesn’t necessarily stop a thought from feeling disturbing, urgent, or important.

You may spend hours going over it, trying to understand why you had the thought, what it says about you, or whether you need to do something about it.

You may recognize the reassurance, checking, researching, reviewing, confessing, avoiding, or analyzing, and still feel powerless to stop getting pulled back in.

My OCD Practice Is Focused Primarily On:

    • Harm OCD
    • Pedophilia-Related OCD (POCD)
    • Relationship OCD (ROCD)
    • Scrupulosity
    • Obsessional OCD, often called “Pure O”

These themes can be especially distressing because they often target what matters most to you: your character, relationships, faith, sexuality, safety, or sense of who you are.

    How I Help With OCD

We’ll start by understanding how OCD shows up for you and what keeps the cycle going.

We’ll look closely at your particular OCD loop: what hooks you, what you do when distress hits, and the mental and behavioral compulsions that keep you tangled in it.

We’ll practice responding differently through approaches such as ERP, reducing compulsions and reassurance, working with avoidance, tolerating distress and uncertainty, and allowing uncomfortable thoughts and feelings to be present without automatically responding to them.

The focus isn’t proving your thoughts wrong. It’s helping you stop living as though every disturbing thought requires a response.

Meet Adrie-Anne Gamble, OCD Therapist | IOCDF Member | ERP Trained

I’m a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCPA) and Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (CPCA), providing online OCD therapy for adults in Alberta and Saskatchewan. I have specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and am a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF).

My approach is warm, direct, and non-judgmental. I work with you in real time when distress is present, and we practice together in session so you can learn a different way of responding to OCD. What we practice together becomes something you can take with you into your week and continue building on between sessions.

Many people are afraid to say the thought out loud, especially with harm OCD, POCD, scrupulosity, or other taboo intrusive thoughts. You don’t have to spend the session convincing me you’re a good person before we can talk about what’s happening.

We can talk about the actual thought. Without shock. Without judgment. And without feeding the OCD cycle with endless reassurance.

If faith is important to you, I’m also comfortable incorporating a Christian perspective into therapy when you would find that helpful.
